Salvia divinorum cutting

Botanical name: Salvia divinorum
Better known as: Salvia, Diviners Sage, Pipiltzintzintli, Hierba de la virgen, Yerba de maria, Ska maria de pastora, Sally-D
Family name: Labiatae (Mint family)
Natural habitat: Mexico

These days Salvia divinorum is an often cultivated plant by ethnobotanists all around the world. Cultivation is always started with cuttings; the plant rarely produces seed.

Our rooted Salvia divinorum cuttings are send in little plastic tubes with an agar solution.

These plastic tubes are a real simple wonder. They provide a very good house for the little, vulnerable plants during shipping; within these plastic tubes they will not get crushed or damaged in any way.

Besides that the plastic tube is a perfect container for agar media. The agar media in the tube provides the right nutrients for the small plant, so the plant can survive within the tube for several weeks, actually even some months.

Our Salvia cuttings are guaranteed disease and pest free.

Take the little plant out of its tube once you receive it and carefully wash off the agar with lukewarm water. The roots should be completely clean. Any possible black parts on the plant or the leaves can be removed without a problem. Remove the lower leaves as well, these can cause too much loss of moist. Place the little plant carefully in a pot filled with standard pot soil.

More information about Salvia divinorum and how to cultivate this sacred plant from Mexico can be found in our Salvia divinorum page.

Unfortunately we can not ship living plants outside the European Union.
